Lee Dewyze
You'll be hearing Lee Dewyze Mid-December though Febuary during Primetime and Daytime television on ABC/WLS. He has just been hired locally by the station to write a music bed for their year-end commercial. Lee is from Chicagoland, but his outstanding 2007 release So I'm Told has been receiving excellent feedback from Los Angeles, Califormia to Olympia, Washington, Maui, Hawaii to Pine Bluff, Arizona! The album So I'm Told is buzzing radio stations all over the midwest and squeezing the corners of the country. Chicago made a big move toward industry recognition this year through Lee, WULI Records (run by Louis Svitek of early Ministry fame& Ryan McGuire of The Virginia Gentlemen), and another power-house release through WULI, July's #1 MySpace Illinois Band The Waking!
Lee has also recently been played on WXRT Chicago, and performed on Elmhurst College's radio station 89.7. Lee's music is ready to hit stores near you, and is also available online at several outlets. Along with other strong Chicago songwriters like Mr. Blotto and Umphrey's McGee, Lee succeeds in building heart-felt atttachment to the melodies he produces. A notable song that transcends definition and tugs on major strings of some of the most recognizable elements of American music is the soothing song The Problem is You. This track deserves its own movie. He brings the flavor home, big time! Now that Lee is producing material for ABC/WLS this season, he will enjoy a very interesting place in television alongside this Season's year-end of Dancing With The Stars, October Road, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and other great shows. Buzz- You have an awesome album Lee. I love the song "The Problem is You". Your voices are so engaging together.
LEE- Thank You!
Buzz- What inspires you to write these songs?
LEE- Well….personal experiences……..maybe like an email someone sends you that gets you to think about something.…and sometimes I'll write songs about things that happen to other people.
LEE- It really is like "art". You can write about whatever you want.
Buzz- How did you meet Louis Svitek and Ryan McGuire?
LEE- Well…Louis. This is a pretty good story.
LEE- I was like 16 or 17 or something like that. and I was playing guitar at a friends who knew Louis…he was in town. LEE- He came by, and I didn't realize that he played in Ministry, several other bands, ya know….. I didn't realize it was him.
Buzz-…and he has credit for playing on the Matrix soundtrack, and other movie contributions, MTV, Europe…He's a pretty big Chicago music figure.
LEE- Yeah.. He sat down and said,…I play guitar.
LEE- So I gave him the guitar, and that was that, ya know.
Buzz- He's a really great song producer. Its amazing what he can do.
Lee will be at the world famous NAMM Show in Anaheim, California representing CORT Guitar.
Buzz- Do you plan on having more female harmonies soon?
LEE- There are a few things coming up.
LEE- I have a lot to do with this album ( promoting, and travel to California, and CD's).
Buzz- Where is your music doing the best right now?
LEE- I get emails from all over the place telling me how much they enjoy my music. From Iowa to Texas.
