Chicago’s Second Hand Smoke is on a mission to prove that they are the best Sublime tribute band on earth. They are accomplishing this with their spot-on vocals and guitar work to the rock-solid rhythm section that serves as the core of the band. This hard-working trio plays every song in the Sublime catalog, including the acoustic songs. The songs are delivered verbatim with the attention to detail that makes the songs great.
The band is comprised of Chris Gelbuda on guitar and lead vocals, Graham Czach on bass and Brad Dickert plays the drums. Chris had always dreamed of having the chance to jam with the guys in Sublime. His wish came true a few years back when his band got to open a few shows for Long beach Shortbus in Iowa City. After partying and hanging out with the crew, he developed a deeper fondness for Sublime and decided to start a cover band. Eric Wilson, bassist for Sublime, gave Chris his blessing and approval.
Chris recruited top-notch musicians from Chicago’s jam, rock, and jazz scenes for this project. Featuring Graham (Chicago Afrobeat Project) and Brad (Native Fiction), this group has no weak links. Are they the best Sublime tribute band on earth? Find out for yourself:
