Menage a Trios’

So there’s me, my wife, and Cotes Du Rhone. A perfect threesome set for a sexy evening entailing drinks, great service and…well we won’t go there but we can tell you the food was good too.

If we knew how to say kick ass in French, we would, but we reached the end of the internet. Cotes du Rhone has divine food, period. We were a little skeptical given we knew that some of the kinks were being ironed out but discovered that they have achieved perfection quickly. We started out the evening entering this intimate setting with a reserved table, a romantic setting, and a bottle our favorite Sauvignon Blanc (it’s BYOB). The feel of the room was warm; the walls covered in chocolate brown, and candles aplenty giving it a touch of medievalness.

We began our French voyage letting Scott, our server (and house pastry chef) recommend many of our selections. We began our culinary experience with a duck pate’ that would make Aflac proud, mussels in a creamy broth, and an assorted cheese plate with a solid assortment of nuts which as we all know is one of Nikki’s favorite menu items. That being said, we also had a portabella and spinach salad with tomato and duck confit which had us licking our plates.

The main course came next. We ordered up the Sea Bass and Bouillabaisse. The Sea Bass could have “kicked our ass” it was so incredible. It was very tender and was made to perfection. The Bouillabaisse had many different types of fish including clams, shrimp, and mussels in succulent sauce that we could have drank from a faucet!!!!! Finally, we had the grapefruit sorbet for dessert which Nikki thought was so good I had wished I was the spoon. It was super fresh too by the way! To boot, our chef and owner, Brian Moulton, made his way around to meet us which was an incredible touch! All in all, this experience was one that would make the French as proud as Andersonville is to have Cotes du Rhone in their hood!

So, we have decided that Cotes du Rhone is a fantastic BYOB dinner destination. But before we close, Nikki and I must provide our washroom review as well (because every date must have a good can). That being said, Cotes du Rhone gets 2 of 5 flushes. While it wants to have sexy bathrooms that meet the standards of the dining room; the basins and floors leave us with that not so fresh feeling. Pee-er beware…
