Spotless!

Now, I must say that Nikki and I have been around the block when it comes to frequenting the bar food scene and are equally so when it comes to utilizing the pun, but we must admit that this establishment really hits our spot. Whether it was our sagacious and smartly versed server John, to our distinctive and delectable tasting dinner, or our visit with the merry and ever so effervescent Marc…we left with full bellies and new friends.

The surprising space and scene here is one that could make almost anyone happy. The Spot has a robust menu and a variety of theme nights. This means you can take anyone to the Spot, from your wealthy Aunt Blanche Deveraux who loves her Golden Tee, to your creepy Uncle Larry Dallas who is always trashed at the Regal Beagle, to the your proverbial meathead boss Rob Reiner (solid reference if you’re a TV buff :o), and even your artsy pal Sanjay Malakar. As you know, we tend to digress from time to time, so let’s dig in!

We started our evening with an order of “death by shrooms” which was grilled with a balsamic reduction sauce that was hallucinogenic in its own right. As if that was not enough, we moved to our main courses which were simply the best Tina Turner style. Nikki ordered up the prime rib that was so damn big and tasty you’d think Fred and Wilma served up Dino. The prime rib was accompanied by a feathery horseradish sauce, potatoes, and an extra side of blue cheese which is not part of the dish but that is how Miss Nikki rolls. The dish I chose was a salmon served up the way I like to be, “Thai’d up”. It was grilled and smothered with a Thai sauce comprised of secret ingredients. We would expound on the recipe but as you know, we don’t kiss and tell.

Other seemingly tasty items on the menu included a taco salad with a tostada sombrero, the “best friggin’ calamari”, and “hot pockets of love” which will definitely return for! The Spot also has two other menus which consist of a tabled down bar menu and an ever so delightful veggie menu.

To finish her off we ordered the recommended Pecan Pie and Chocolate Mousse that had us shvitzing with anxiety until it arrived. The desserts are definitely a must have! As a side note we must also mention that there are ½ price bottle nights on Wednesdays too, always a feel good!

Bottom line as far as the couple’s cuisine column is concerned is, “Go Spot Go”!

But before we close, as you know, Nikki and I must provide our washroom review as well (because every date must have a good can). That being said, we used the washroom which flushes out at a three spot. It was a spotless can that would that would certainly put all of those Johnny’s to shame.

Have a favorite restaurant you would like to be reviewed? Please send your suggestions to Corey and Nikki at info@buzznews.net!!! Your restaurant could be in our next issue!!!
