Why do I love Las Vegas? Maybe it’s because I fell in love there once, and in and out of love a few times since. Maybe it’s the fact that in this increasingly fascist, smoke free world, in Vegas you can still smoke anywhere. There’s nothing like the feeling of freedom when you walk right into a perfectly air conditioned casino with a lit cigarette in one hand and a 24 inch tall, flamingo shaped pina colada in the other and no one bats an eye. Maybe it’s because I’m a natural night owl and love to see people all dressed up, wide awake, laughing and gambling as the sun is coming up as if they had just begun their evening.
Maybe it’s because I am uncontrollably drawn to sparkly lights and Vegas boasts one of the most spectacular and romantic, sparkly night skylines of any city in the world. It might be because after living in Chicago for twenty years and enduring some of the shortest and chilliest summers anywhere, I can relax comfortably poolside in Vegas in gloriously sunny, blazing 90 degree heat because there is so little humidity there. To me Vegas is like Disney World for adults. You can dress up or down and “let it ride” on any night of the week in this fantasy world for grown ups who still love to party.
There are so many reasons to love Vegas- from the pools, dining and entertainment to the massive theme hotels and we will explore them all in this issue because we know how many of our readers here in Chicago also travel to Vegas several times a year for vacations and all manner of bachelor/ette parties!
In this issue our hotel casino home base is the magnificent MGM Grand, I’ll take you inside my suite at the MGM and let you know every detail I experience about this fantastic resort hotel from the pool to the spa, food, casino and nightlife. Well maybe not every detail, ‘cause what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’, baby!

Bang a Gong with Lance, Frank and Carrot Top, they’re dirty sweet and I’m their Girl!
I got to meet and see the awesome shows of three of the most talented, unique and sexy men in Vegas on this trip with master magician, Lance Burton, at the Monte Carlo, longest running headliner and female impersonator, Frank Marino of “La Cage” at the Riviera and world famous funnyman, Carrot Top at the Luxor.
You must check out their full phone interviews, articles and exclusive Buzz video series “Postcards from the Road” with the handsome and gifted Lance, Frank and Carrot Top this month on www.BuzzNews.net to see the fantastic interviews each of these fantabulous Vegas star babies gave me!
Zumanity, Welcome to the jungle!
I’ll never forget being seated for Zumanity! As our usher rushed us into the center front row, lightning crashed, thunder roared and a whirlwind of rose petals blew in my face, while beautiful sexy dancers contorted and crawled towards us in an erotic sea of emotion!
Zumanity is the newest Cirque Du Soleil show billed as the “erotic side of Cirque” and was it ever!
I feel that the dancers were so skilled and awesomely sexy by themselves that the topless nudity wasn’t even necessary to heighten the effect, but it was done beautifully and tastefully nonetheless.
The great thing about this show is that it really encompasses all sides of human sexuality and left you feeling that in this century whatever brings out that feeling of Eros in you, by all means take it home. Anything goes, including a twosome of lovers playfully frolicking in a giant sized champagne glass!
Check out our interview and review of this show with our gorgeous cover girl, Tessa, whose unbelievably energetic and flexible and complex dance moves shocked and delighted.
Boo hoo, I want to be wanted-The Phantom Lives!
Las Vegas is definitely the place to see the current production of Phantom at The beautiful Venetian Hotel, complete with falling, flying chandeliers and terrific exploding special effects! This cast is absolutely top notch in vocal ability.
I love the phantom of the opera story too, despite the traditional ending. The Phantom is so sexy and sad, crying out for his love, all alone in his fancy, sordid, little underground canal. But I wanted the heroine to choose him, instead of the safe bet!
Maybe the Phantom would have had better luck with her if he had dragged her to Las Vegas in the middle of her performance- instead of into the sewer! Hmm, let’s think about it…frequent head injuries, melodramatic- bossy and impulsive…the Phantom was probably an Aries …couldn’t have been a Virgo; they are content to view beauty from a distance and would never have left the tunnel- but I digress. Maybe… the heroine should have given the Phantom a second look before hitching her gondola to the healthy one. After all, what does a mass of facial scar tissue and missing hair matter to a gal, when faced with that kind of unbridled PASSION?!! I say go with the flow, honey! Hey, this calls for Phantom 2! Rewrites! Rewrites! The Phantom finally gets the girl!
Whew! I think all my lovely kitty friends need a little R and R right now, so go ahead and book that three-day weekend in Vegas, after 72 hours in the sun and fun you’ll all be ready to tackle the long winter with gusto!
Word is, the purring kitty gets all the milk, so keep on scratching and meowing!
Love, Kim Katz
