Friar Tuck’s is a great little neighborhood bar in Lakeview. Before the Dominick’s grocery store next to it burnt down I used to stop in here all the time on the way home from shopping to catch some funny karaoke night shenanigans or to hear, The Brother’s K, a live band on Monday nights. Casual and inexpensive with no cover charge, it is still a really nice place to stop in for a relaxing drink or a couple hours of karaoke fun with your friends. In the winter there is a lovely fireplace going to cozy you up and the bathrooms labeled Maid Marian and Friar Tuck give you that old-timey Robin Hood feel.
The owner Christine is just about as funny and sweet as she can be. I have known her and her loyal bartender Kim for many years and I like to think of them as the female equivalent of Sam and Woody at Cheers, constantly making sure everyone feels welcome and has the drink they want in their hand!
Friar Tuck’s offers monthly theme parties, four cable fed TV’s, complimentary popcorn and the most friendly people in all the forest!
