For my new job, sideline reporter for the Rockford IceHogs, my first assignment was to do some interviews with some of the Blackhawks prospects that will most likely be playing in Rockford.
I felt pretty cool being a part of the official media and not just an intern bringing someone coffee.
The first thing I noticed was an enormous man wearing Versteeg across his back.  I had heard that Kris Versteeg's "kid" brother Mitch was invited to camp but I had no idea of his size.  He stands at 6'2, which is 4 inches taller than his older brother and I heard Mitch is also 18 pounds heavier.

Mitch got the size and Kris got the rapping ability.
I wonder who picked on who growing up?
The other difference?  Mitch is a hard-hitting defenceman.  Could this have developed when Kris needed someone to shoot against?
I'm not going to spoil the interviews I did for IceHogs TV which you can find on IceHogs.com, but I will give you a little preview.
I interviewed Joe Palmer, a goalie who previously played at Ohio State.  He had one amazing breakthrough season then struggled a bit the last two years.  However, he is back in action this year working for a spot on that roster.

However, with all the goalie chaos with Critobal Huet, Palmer will most likely have to start (and maybe even stay) the season in Toledo. (The Toledo Walleye is the team affiliate with both the Hogs and the Hawks in the ECHL).
Hopefully we can see Palmer make a couple appearances in Rockford.  He has a goalie style similar to Ryan Miller and he also played with Patrick Kane on the US National development team.
After Palmer, I interviewed Blackhawks prospect, Brandon Bollig.  Bollig has quite an interesting story, he is an undrafted player who now has a chance to get to "the show".  Also, he's from St. Louis, which is cool enough, I didn't know people in Missouri actually played hockey!

Bollig is a big dude and he is not hesitant to throw guys into the boards, nor is he shy to fight.  Blackhawks need big physical players and he knows that.  Also, he's left handed which can throw opponents off in fights.
He's known for his physical player, but today he surprised people with his speed.
I also interviewed Shawn Lalonde and you can catch that on IceHogs.com.
