Chicago Magic Lounge welcomes back magician and high school science teacher Mister Danny as its first Artist in Residence of 2027 with How It's Done, a new show that pulls back the curtain on the secrets behind magic. Playing Wednesdays at 7 p.m., January 6 – March 31, How It's Done explores the science, mathematics, psychology and sleight of hand magicians use to make the impossible seem possible.
All day, Mister Danny teaches students how the world works. By night, he lies to crowds all over Chicagoland, claiming he has magic powers.
He's had enough.
In How It's Done, Mister Danny reveals how the tricks work, taking audiences inside everything from advanced science and complex mathematics to simple psychology and knuckle-busting sleight of hand. The result is a show designed to entertain, astonish and deceive, and audiences might even learn something new along the way.
How It's Done plays Wednesdays at 7 p.m., January 6 – March 31, 2027. Tickets are $44 (Main Floor) and $50 (Front Row), plus applicable fees. Tickets for all Chicago Magic Lounge performances are available at the box office, (312) 366-4500 or online at chicagomagiclounge.com.
