Happy Valentine’s Day?

I remember in grade school buying boxes of those cute little cards and candies that said “ I Love You” and “U R the 1” and excitedly giving them to everyone in my class, including the girls. Louie AndersonI used to love Valentine’s Day. I remember in grade school buying boxes of those cute little cards and candies that said “ I Love You” and “U R the 1” and excitedly giving them to everyone in my class, including the girls. I always got at least as many as I handed out and felt a little sorry for the kids who only got one or two.

In high school the holiday started to lose it’s luster a little bit, gone was the giddy excitement of sharing how much you liked all your friends and in came the grim reality that your current lovability was judged by how many boys bought you carnations or better yet, a rose! I distinctly remember telling my boyfriend who was already in college during my senior year to have his rose bouquet delivered to me during science class so that all my high school friends would know I had received them.

As an adult no one but you knows whether a man considers you dinner and flower worthy on that special day. (Unless you ask him to deliver your flowers to your work place.) But you know, and if you are alone on Valentines Day the sight of endless greeting card commercials and happy couples strolling hand in hand can be quite depressing. Maybe you have just met someone on www.match.com but have to make that often-deadly decision about if it’s too soon to send a valentine after knowing him or her only two weeks. Even worse is having a boyfriend on that day that doesn’t “believe in romance”, or “giving flowers that die in a day” and makes you suffer along with him.

I like a man who lives for love and romance and is eager to have another special day to demonstrate his love (and lust) for me. Guys, let me give you some advice, no matter what your lady says about the holiday, or how broke you are, dig deep and buy her some flowers and a mushy card. Life is tough enough the rest of the year and nothing makes a girl feel more like a lucky lady like the sweet scent of quickly dieing rose petals!

My Dinner with Louie: Roundtable at the Excalibur

I believe that we all have extended families in the spirit world and when I meet someone on this side who instantly feels like family I know I’ve met a kindred spirit. Louie Anderson, the very gifted, insightful and award winning comedian now headlining at The Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, is one of those instantly loveable and sensitive souls. Editor Ken Payne and I had the privilege of dining with him and fellow comedian, Taylor Negron, at The Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas and true to form Louie was the kindest, most caring and witty dining companion one could hope for! You must check out my rave review of his long running show at The Excalibur and Check back soon for my video “Postcard from the Road” with this super charming and funny king of humor!

Darren Daulton Digs Deep

I am very into new age and esoteric and metaphysical thinking. What a pleasure and surprise to speak with a professional sports star that believes in exploring all these interesting ideas. Darren Daulton has written a fascinating and refreshing book about his experiences with the spiritual side of life called “If They Only Knew”. You must check out our great phone interview with this versatile and open-minded all-star athlete at www.buzznews.net!

Queensryche Rocks Chicago Hard !!

Queensryche absolutely blew the roof off the House of Blues to kick off February and original drummer Scott Rockenfield gave me the most adorable video “Postcard from the Road” right before taking the stage to another sold out house! You must check it out at www.buzznews.net! Special shout out to their sweet and efficient assistant, Fozzy, who bravely took on the brutish and rude security guards there who were hassling patrons of the band! You GO Fozzy!!!!! I got nothin’ but love for ya baby!

Happy Valentines Day to ALL my kitty friends!
I got nothin’ but love for all my honeys!
